The best beach clubs on the Costa del Sol

Where to spend a Sunday, which ones take a booking, and the two that are worth the drive.
A beach club on this coast is rarely just lunch. It is where the season is spent, where the summer social calendar lives, and — for a surprising number of our buyers — the thing that decides which side of Marbella they end up buying on.
For a long lunch that turns into dinner
The classics along the Golden Mile still set the standard. Expect to reserve a bed rather than a table, expect the bill to reflect the postcode, and expect to still be there at sunset. Book in advance from June onward; walk-ins in August are optimistic.
For families
Elviria and Las Chapas are where the coast relaxes. Shallow water, sand rather than shingle, and clubs that will happily bring a plate of pasta for a five-year-old without making it an event. The Sunday atmosphere is a different sport entirely to the Banús end.
Worth the drive
Two, in our view. One west towards Estepona, where the crowd thins and the seafood improves. One east towards La Cala, where the prices drop by a third and nobody seems to have noticed. Both are forty minutes from Marbella and both are better than something twice the price on the Golden Mile in August.
A practical note for buyers: beach club access is a genuine consideration when choosing between two otherwise similar properties. Ask us which clubs are a walk rather than a drive from a given address — it changes how a house is actually lived in.
