Golf courses & country clubs — a paradise for golf lovers

Seventy courses inside an hour, and how proximity to the right one moves a property's value.
There are around seventy courses between Málaga and Sotogrande. The Costa del Golf is not a marketing invention — it is the densest concentration of golf in continental Europe, and for a large share of our buyers it is the reason they are here at all.
The valley
Nueva Andalucía packs several of the coast's best-known courses into a single bowl behind Puerto Banús. Front-line golf property here holds value stubbornly well, and the reason is simple: they are not building any more of it. The view is protected by the fairway itself.
Sotogrande
A different proposition — quieter, more established, and home to the championship courses that host the serious tournaments. Buyers who find Marbella busy often end up here. The drive is longer, the atmosphere is calmer, and the polo season gives the year a rhythm.
What it means for a purchase
Front-line golf commands a premium of roughly fifteen to twenty-five per cent over an equivalent property a few streets back. Whether that is worth paying depends on whether you play. If you do not, buying two minutes from the first tee instead of on it releases a substantial amount of budget towards the house itself.
One thing worth checking that buyers rarely think of: which side of the fairway. A south-facing terrace over a green is a different property to a north-facing one over the same green, and the price often does not distinguish between them.
